K-12 Consulting

My Consulting Background
Robin Tatmon

Relevancy and Accessibility

With almost a decade of educational experience, I have found that integrating technology into your lesson or curriculum is not the answer for student success; however, it is what you do with that technology while making it relevant and accessible for all students that makes them successful.

Consulting Experience

My consulting experience includes supporting leaders and teachers by designing curriculum with technology integration, training teachers and leaders on implementing technology, and helping/teaching parents and students how to become learning partners. These experiences have led me to build long-lasting trust relationships with teachers and district leaders.

My Beliefs In Consulting

Building Trust Relationships

Building trust relationships with stakeholders, leaders, teachers, and students is essential if you want to impact education culture. I believe a trust relationship is a foundation for student success.

Goals Are Important, and So Are Students

Goals are important, and so are students- I believe without truly understanding and fulfilling your students' needs, student success goals will be a challenge to obtain. Therefore,  in my initial consultation with leaders and teachers, I typically ask the questions, "what do your students need, and how do you know this?" I can get a feel for how I might approach students and culture the instruction.

Being Transparent In Reports and Reflections

There are many new technology tools, strategies, concepts, and ideas in the education field that can either support or hinder student success rate, and as educators, we want to know, "Did it work or did it not work, and why?" Therefore, in any strategy or training that I implement to staff, I must receive transparent feedback to help guide leaders in analyzing what worked and what did not work and possible solutions that support student success.

Building Relationships and Needs Assessing

I must build relationships with staff before I can implement a plan or strategy. A trusting relationship with staff and leaders is the foundation for student success. Once this is established, technology needs assessment will be implemented.

Listening and Sharing Best Practices

Some of the best ideas are developed in a room filled with educators. While conducting professional training, I encourage teachers to share their ideas and practices, and then I apply my expertise so that teachers and I can develop a partnership. That will support student learning and achievement.

Implementing and Tracking Data and Behaviors

After a good rapport is established with teachers, needs assessments have been completed, and best practices have been shared, the implementation plan involves ongoing detailed data tracking of teachers integrating technology with a purpose.
